Day 6 – Junk Food Withdrawal

I am happy to report that I still have not experienced a significant amount of pain; however, chewing anything is quite uncomfortable.

Junk food, I do believe, has become a thing of the past. All of my favourite junky things are now taboo: pretzels, Miss Vickie’s, caramels, Swedish Berries, Ju Jubes, Hershey’s with almonds. I’m starting to have crappy food withdrawal symptoms.

My diet the last six days has consisted mostly of smoothies and organic soups. I did manage to get through a salmon filet and some steamed broccoli for dinner on Saturday, but that has been about the extent of my chewing (mostly). I tried kolbasa and gouda in my tomato soup one evening but that was just messy and a bitch to clean.

I am curious to see if this whole orthodontic experience will result in significant weight loss. That wouldn’t be a bad thing; I could drop a stone or two… okay four. I’ll keep you posted on that.
